The Susan Faludi Publicity Collection includes a number of press clippings, particularly from news magazines and national newspapers, printed before and after Backlash and Stiffed were published. In particular, it documents the national news-media's response to the books, and the debate surrounding second-wave feminism in the late-20th century. Also included are a few articles written by Faludi herself on the same or related subjects.

American journalist and author Susan C. Faludi was born in Queens, New York, in 1959. She graduated from Harvard University (1981) and later wrote for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Miami Herald. A feminist and social critic, she has published Backlash: The Undeclared War against American Women (1991), Stiffed: The Betrayal of the American Man (1999), and The Terror Dream: Fear and Fantasy in Post-9/11 America (2007).
